Danish Agribusiness Delegation to Uganda Delivers Strong Results and New Opportunities

The 2026 Uganda delegation was a targeted effort to connect Danish agribusiness innovators with local stakeholders. Organized by the Danish Embassy in Uganda, Access2innovation (A2i), and the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, it took place from April 20-23. The event brought together 17 delegates from leading Danish companies, demonstrating a strong commitment to East African market entry.

"The Uganda delegation was a resounding success, with 17 delegates securing 58 B2B meetings and key introductions at the Danish Embassy and President's Office - proving that Danish innovation meets real East African opportunities head-on," says John Magnay, A2i Representative East Africa.

From Pigs and Poultry to Energy and Data

Participating firms included industry leaders like Cimbria (seed processing and grain handling), Orana A/S (agro-processing), DanBred (pig genetics), FOSS (data analytics for food and agro), GSOL Energy (off-grid power), LINCO Incubator (poultry incubators), Baader (poultry processing), and Novonesis (enzymes and additives for food, feed, livestock, and biofuels). These companies represent a mix of technologies essential for modernizing Uganda's agricultural sector.

58 B2B meetings in three days

Over three intensive days, the delegation delivered high-impact engagements. Highlights included a meeting at the Danish Embassy with five presentations, a session at the President's Office featuring five presentations to 30 hosts, and a reception with 49 partner guests. The centerpiece was 58 B2B meetings, facilitated by logistics like 10 EV cabs, a minibus, two cars, and five chaperones.

Let us open Tanzania for Your Business

The Danish Agriculture & Food Council, in partnership with Access2innovation and the Danish Embassy in Tanzania, is pleased to invite your company to participate in this 2026 agribusiness delegation to Tanzania.

Why Tanzania?

Tanzania is one of Africa’s most fertile and open countries, with ambitious growth targets and an agribusiness sector full of opportunities. This delegation visit will enable Danish companies to meet local key partners and potential customers, display their products and services, and gain first-hand knowledge about the Tanzanian agribusiness industry and market.

Key aspects of Tanzanian agribusiness:

  • The agricultural sector in Tanzania accounts for a significant part of the country’s GDP and export earnings. With the agricultural sector employing approximately 70% of population, the sector plays a crucial part for the country’s economy.
  • Tanzania is very close to its target of lower-middle-income status – partly through serious reform of the agricultural sector from subsistence farming to commercial farming. The sector is now more competitive and profitable.
  • Urbanization is high, the middle class is growing, and demand for agricultural production is increasing.
  • All of the above offer great opportunities for Danish companies. The demand for high quality production and processing equipment, cold-chain facilities, packaging and storing facilities is high, and the need for quality control remains a challenge for Tanzanian agricultural exports.

What is unique about this mission?

The delegates will have an opportunity to meet and explore synergies with government representatives and industry organizations as well as one-on-one meetings with relevant commercial partners in Tanzania. Moreover, the delegates will have an opportunity to meet and explore synergies with implementing partners of the Danish development programs in Tanzania.

Who should join?

The delegation is open to participation from companies working within the agribusiness industry, e.g.:

  • Food technology and food solutions
  • Food processing technology
  • Agricultural materials
  • Agro-services, machinery, equipment
  • Biomass energy & solar
  • Small-scale irrigation
  • Quality control and food safety
