A2i gets 2,54 million Euro to introduce Danish and EU-based green technology in East AfricaNew A2i program manager in Uganda: William NyakaturaA2i Workshop with Caritas Uganda2,54 million Euro to A2i to introduce Danish and EU-based green technology in East AfricaDanish and EU-based climate-friendly technologies within the food sector will now gain better access to new business opportunities in Uganda. The Ugandan development organization aBi Development Ltd has entered a collaboration with the Danish NGO Access2innovation to build a platform that will analyze value chains in Ugandan agriculture and identify relevant Danish and EU-based climate-friendly and commercially sustainable technologies. The project is called Green Technology Transfer Fund (GTTF). It has received nearly DKK 19 million—UGX 10.34 billion or EUR 2.54 million—to accelerate climate-friendly solutions in Uganda’s food sector using Danish and EU technology. The objective is to enable Danish and EU-based companies to test and scale solutions within processing, water, energy, and circular economy in collaboration with local partners. The project runs for 24 months and combines technology transfer and capacity building with the mobilization of additional co-financing to scale up the initiative. A Unique Opportunity for EU-based Companies and Sustainable Development “With this grant, we can build a bridge between Danish and EU-based green solutions and concrete needs in Uganda. It opens up new business opportunities for European companies, giving them a unique chance to introduce relevant technologies and solutions to the growing markets in East Africa while contributing to more sustainable development in the region,” says Henrik Anker-Ladefoged, CEO of Access2innovation.
